Optical Genome Mapping: Unrivaled Structural Variant Detection for Clinical Research and Complex Genome Analysis

ECA-ECC Spotlight 2021
July 8, 2021

Dr. Elena Sanchez / Dr. Anna Puiggros

In this seminar, you will learn how Optical Genome Mapping (OGM) is used for the characterization of complex cancer samples. Our first speaker, Dr. Elena García Sánchez of Hospital Infantil Universitario Niño Jesús, Madrid, Spain will present their internal evaluation study of leukemia samples against gold standard techniques for the identification of structural and copy number variants. Our second speaker, Dr. Anna Maria Puiggros of IMIM – Hospital del Mar, Barcelona, Spain will present their study for the identification of CLL samples with complex karyotype and show how OGM improves the detection of chromosomal rearrangements missed by classical cytogenetic techniques.
